An Important
Announcement about Shiloh Christian School
After thirty years of
providing quality Christian Education in Sierra Vista, the Board of Directors
of Shiloh Christian Ministries (SCM) regretfully announce the closure of Shiloh
Christian School (SCS) at the end of this 2008-2009 school year. This difficult
decision was reached following much prayerful consideration over a long period
of time. We sincerely believe this direction is the leading of the Lord. We
must regard the history of declining enrollment, along with the changing
dynamics of Christian education in our community. Regrettably, these similar trends have
resulted in the same response by hundreds of Christian schools throughout the
nation. We remain strongly committed to the greater vision of Christian
education in our congregation and in the community. You should know that the possibility of the
restoration of Christian Education at some point in our future is not excluded.
We are sincerely grateful for
the Shiloh Christian School board, teachers, staff, parents, and students for
their sacrificial support of and love for Shiloh Christian School. The fruit of
their commitment and labor is evident in the many lives impacted for the
Kingdom of God. We are also grateful for the faithful and very significant
support of our Shiloh Church family and the Sierra Vista community through all
of these years.
The Lord is faithful in all
His ways -we know that He will help us through this season of change. We believe that His plans for us are for good
and not for destruction; to bring us a future and a hope (Jer 29:11). We look
back with joy and gratitude for all that He has done. We also look forward with
great anticipation and hope for the good things He has in store. We pray for God’s
peace and provision for everyone connected to our school at this time. Please
keep them all in your prayers as they seek and trust God for the steps that are
ahead.
The School Office staff will
continue to be available on a part-time basis until the end of July. Should you
need assistance, please call 520.459.2869 for an appointment.
Grace and Peace to you,
Pastor Joseph L. Tumpkin
